SALISBURY, Md. – The Centre at Salisbury mall is now under new ownership and big changes are on the horizon.

In a Facebook post shared earlier this week, Centre officials announced that the mall would be undergoing some wonderful, exciting changes.

47 ABC News got the chance to speak to the new owners, 4th Dimension Properties and their Principal Felix Reznik who says they are already planning to bring in a bunch of new businesses.

“We, very fortunately, are very close to a deal with a large candy-type concept that I cannot tell you who they are,” Reznik explained. “We’ve engaged in conversations with a couple of sports facilities for the Sears.”

All of the changes that are on the way are in an attempt to increase foot traffic and boost business at the mall, starting with the food court where we’re told a new restaurant will be moving in.

“We also have a couple of new tenants coming, one in the food court, that should be starting some work probably next week,” Reznik said. “There’s a lot of good, new stuff happening here.”

There’s long been a stigma associated with the Centre at Salisbury, along with many malls across the country, that they’re ‘dying’ as business slows and stores leave; however, Reznik says that’s far from the case when it comes to his properties.

“My malls don’t die,” Reznik said emphatically. “I purchased a mall back in December, it’s called the Bellis Fair mall in Washington State, and I urge the folks in Salisbury to google it and see what we’re doing there. We’ve ramped up so much that we basically have an event every month, and that’s my intent here.”

While it will take some time, Reznik said he plans to apply that same concept here in Salisbury which will see a plethora of events taking place at the Centre.

“We’ve had Valentine’s Day events, selfie stations, a very cool Mother’s Day event, axe throwing for Father’s Day,” Reznik said. “We just had a back to school event over there. We’re constantly doing things and we’re going to be constantly doing things here to attract people to the mall.

The new owners weren’t able to share anymore details on exactly which shops will be moving in or who they’re still negotiating with, but they promised to keep us up to date as soon as they can share more information.
